The awards are judged by an esteemed panel of industry leaders and experts, the judging process is a rigorous two stage process including pre-scoring to determine shortlists and a judging meeting where entries are discussed and evaluated in detail to decide the winning entries.

Tom Armenante

Ecommerce Director for Gocableties |

Tom Armenante is Ecommerce Director for Gocableties; a rapidly expanding online cable tie and business supplies business with a strong marketplace presence. At Gocableties Tom defines and drives the ecommerce strategy and is responsible for the site’s ecommerce platform. 

Previously Tom was Ecommerce Manager for high-end fashion brands Wolsey, Nicole Farhi and BLK DNM, implementing ecommerce strategy for all 3 brands. Prior to this Tom was the Head of SEO at Matalan, where he was responsible for organic growth and working with internal teams to drive ecommerce performance. Tom also has previous experience at the award-winning SEO agency, Branded3 where he helped to formulate the search strategy for some of the UK’s largest brands.



Cat Buckley

Group Head of eCommerce, Regatta |

Cat heads up the global eCommerce strategy for the Regatta group of brands across their own websites, marketplaces and third party digital channels. She has over 10 years of eCommerce experience having worked with leading high street retailers including JD Sports and Pets at Home. With a data led approach, she is passionate about improving the customer experience at all touchpoints.

Elizabeth Clark

David Crawford


Having worked in the agency sector for over 25 years David has a wealth of experience across agencies of all shapes, sizes and colours.  He’s held board level roles at major digital and integrated agencies including McCann Erickson, twentysix, BJL and latterly Branded3 where he was Managing Director.  

In these senior roles he’s been responsible for strategic development as well as operational effectiveness and profitability.  Not to mention leading on clients such as UPS, HSBC, American Airlines, Inchcape Motor Group, Bentley Motors and Procter & Gamble at both national and international levels.

Dan Cluderay

Arianne Donoghue


Having started off her digital career client side over a decade ago, Arianne has worked for both agencies and brands in-house, specialising in all things paid search. She is now back agency side supporting on biddable media digital strategy.

A regular on the conference scene, she’s also an editor and contributor at popular site State of Digital.

Ellie England

Passionate about digital, women in technology and making a lasting impact, Ellie began her career in sales working in an inner city secondary school 'selling' the importance of modern languages to disaffected teenagers. She got in to the world of digital advertising working for Google for 6 years, before eventually relocating to Manchester and joining Microsoft. As a Sales Director for Microsoft Advertising, for the past three and a half years, Ellie has been spearheading the continued investment in the North of the UK and leads a growing team of search account managers and directors.

Kevin Hoggarth

Kevin has worked in the digital and web environment for nearly 25 years. Starting out as a developer he has worked his way through various functions from integrating financial mainframes to web applications, to running enterprise e-Commerce development teams. Currently running a Business Change Management Programme and several other technical integration projects it’s safe to say he has a holistic view on most areas of the industry. Having been with Specialist Leisure Group for the last 9 years, he has overseen a myriad of changes in both the technology and ethos of the various e-Commerce platforms within the business, and is eagerly looking forward to challenges the future will bring.


Chloe Gordon

Chloe Gordon, UK eCommerce Business Manager, Kellogg’s |

Chloe Gordon leads the eCommerce Commercial team for Kellogg’s UK. Responsible for creating the future for Kellogg’s in the online channel by developing eCommerce strategic initiatives which drive category and customer growth and position Kellogg’s as the supplier of choice. Since joining Kellogg’s in 2013, Chloe has undertaken a number of positions within both the category management and commercial functions across multiple categories and channels. Prior to Kellogg’s Chloe spent 3 years at Unilever in various category roles and 5 years in buying and product management.

Emil Jimenez

Emil Jimenez started working in the communications industry in 1998 as a web designer in NYC. After graduating from Rutgers University with a degree in Psychology, he moved to Miami where he continued his education and received a Masters in Creative Communications from Florida International University and the renowned Miami Ad School. 

Emil has worked for Smith Barney, United Bank of Switzerland, Citibank, MTV Latin America, Leo Burnett, Lowe Worldwide, and he founded Passion Communications in 2009 with offices in Prague and Miami Beach.

With over 18 years of experience, Emil has successfully managed global campaigns, multinational teams, and clients throughout the EU and US. In 2019 he joined ROIVENUE™ as their CMO and is in charge of all international communication for the brand. Currently, he is undergoing a Global Executive MBA with IESE in Barcelona where he received the Global Leaders scholarship and will graduate in 2020.

Brendan Keegan

Brendan has taught digital marketing at Manchester Metropolitan University Business School for ten years. With a short stint in agency land in digital comms and web development, his teaching and research focuses on digital marketing strategy in the services industry. Recently awarded a PhD that focused on the role of analytics in social media marketing campaigns, Brendan uses a combination of industry experience with a wide network of Manchester agencies to further understand digital which feeds into his teaching.

Mark Kuhillow

Neil McKay

For more than 15 years, Neil has been helping businesses here in the UK, Europe and USA grow their online profits.

He started his career at publisher Media Ventures Group (MVG), helping to build and sell Global Media GmbH to private equity firm The Carlyle Group before leading the UK acquisition of Bigmouthmedia (now part of DigitasLBi). He later led Lakestar Media to success before it was acquired by McCann Worldgroup in 2012.

Neil’s latest venture is Endless Gain – a Conversion Optimisation Agency which launched in January 2016.

Darren Ratcliffe

Darren is has worked in the eCommerce sector for almost 20 years cutting his teeth as an eCommerce developer before going on to set up two digital agencies in the past 11 years.   His second agency Digitl was successfully acquired by growth specialists Six & Flow earlier this year where Darren now leads the Digital arm of the business.

Having worked with clients including ebay, JD Fashion PLC, Suzuki GB and Music Magpie amongst others in recent years, he has a great breadth of experience in this sector and joins us for the second year as a judge.

Mark Roberts

Mark Roberts, co-founder of Beer Hawk, the UK’s leading craft beer retailer, is a rare breed of entrepreneur who masters uniting board-level B2C marketing experience with e-commerce and digital innovation.  Before embarking on his own entrepreneurial journey, Mark built his commercial and innovation skills at a number of global and blue-chip companies including Direct Wines, Lloyds Banking Group, HBOS and Procter & Gamble.  He has led Beer Hawk on a consistent fast-track growth trajectory over the past 7 years from nothing to a turnover of £20million this year.  In 2016 Beer Hawk became part of ZX Ventures.


Duncan Rutherford

I’ve over 15 years experience of managing, leading and owning online businesses. From award-winning self-employed start-up, to joining in 2007, I’ve experienced Commercial, Marketing and eCommerce roles in a varied career. My current role heading up BT’s eCommerce retail engine (BT Shop) sees me lead the end-to-end Sales, Marketing & Online teams to deliver profitable growth in a challenging market. It’s a unique role enabling me to define the strategy right through to leading the team daily to deliver our core objectives – it’s an entrepreneurial business within a huge organisation! Outside of work I’m a husband to Caroline, Dad to 2 year old Theo and a keen Sailor, Marine Surveyor and Hip-Hop Guru (long-story!).

Max has the pleasure of working in the marketing and technology sector for the past five years, through this time he has engrossed himself in a number of aspect of the industry. Being able to look at ecommerce holistically from the agencies, brands and technologies such as Nosto has been truly fascinating. Max has taken real pleasure in learning from his peers and using this knowledge to help drive the success of the projects he has been lucky to be a part of over the years. Michelle is an Australian award-winning journalist turned digital marketer who specialises in SEO, content strategy and acquisition.

She graduated with a BA in Communication Studies (Journalism) and is armed with more than a decade of marketing and editorial experience for both big and small brands. Having moved to London from Sydney in 2016 for a new challenge, she just completed 2.5 years as Head of SEO & Content at The Telegraph Media Group where she led the ‘Best In-House SEO Team’ of 2019. She is now exploring new pastures consulting for global and start-up businesses in the highly competitive FinTech, Financial Services, Ecommerce and Publishing industries.

Peter Young

Peter has been actively involved in the Northern agency scene for nearly 20 years, working for some of the biggest agencies in the North including MediaVest (now part of Dentsu Aegis Group), Brilliant Media, Amaze, MediaCom and more recently as Managing Partner of WPP stablemate Wavemaker , supporting clients ranging from Expedia, GE, Thomas Cook, Lexus, DFS through to comparison behemoths such as Compare the Market.

Peter has also been hugely active in the Manchester digital scene having started the original Manchester SEO conference, and more recently as co-founders of both SasCon and Bidex.

In his current role, Peter leads Precision Marketing across the business, delivering data-centric strategies for clients across Programmatic, Paid Search/Social, SEO, Data Consultancy and Analytics – ensuring these are integrated completely into the wider channel offerings within the Wavemaker product.
